Overview




This short course explores data science, including general statistical procedures, data manipulation and the analysis and visual representation of data. The course introduces students to foundational concepts and skills in data science and statistics, including:

  • fundamental knowledge in descriptive and inferential statistics
  • key stages int he data science process
  • data processing and visualisation techniques

Students will learn:

  • descriptive and inferential statistics
  • the data science process
  • data processing techniques
  • effective data visualisations - charts and graphs
  • basis machine learning models.


Term 2 2025: This course will be delivered between 5th June 2025 and 25th July 2025 - two hours per week for seven - eight weeks.
